Another Winneshiek County resident has died from the effects of COVID-19

A 14th Winneshiek County resident has died from the effects of the coronavirus. That means Winneshiek County now has the highest total of COVID-19 deaths among the six counties in NE Iowa, with 13 deaths reported in Allamakee County; 12 deaths in Fayette County; 10 deaths in Clayton County; 9 deaths in Howard County and 6 deaths in Chickasaw County, for a total of 64 deaths in NE Iowa.
A total of 5,906 NE Iowans have had positive COVID-19 test results. There have been 1,193 cases in Clayton County; 1,131 cases in Fayette County; 1,131 cases in Winneshiek County; 929 cases in Chickasaw County; 924 cases in Allamakee County and 598 cases in Howard County.
638 of those cases in Winneshiek County have recovered; 510 Allamakee County cases; 704 Clayton County cases; 635 Fayette County cases; 739 Chickasaw County cases and 325 Howard County cases.
That means there are 479 active COVID-19 cases in Winneshiek County; 401 in Allamakee County; 479 in Clayton County, 484 in Fayette County; 184 in Chickasaw County; and 264 in Howard County, for a total of 2,291 NE Iowans who are still recovering from COVID-19.
