Decorah Police responded to a rash of accidents recently

Decorah Police have responded to four different traffic accidents recently.
On Wednesday of last week, shortly before 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway and Mechanic, vehicles driven by 20-year-old Maggy Hovden of Decorah and by 75-year-old Bruce Hanson of Decorah collided. Both drivers claimed to have the green light, say police. The accident did a total of $3,000 in damages. No tickets were issued because officers could not determine which driver was at fault.
Earlier Wednesday, 39-year-old Clint Koch of Decorah was driving northbound on Highway 52 while 85-year-old Wayne Everman of Decorah was stopped on Pole Line Road at the Highway 52 stop sign. Everman pulled out from Pole Line Road and was struck by Koch. The accident did $11,000 in total damages. Both drivers and a passenger in Everman's vechile were taken to the hospital for observation. Everman was not ticketed, but police officers said he was at fault for the accident.
On Sunday, November 29th, an accident on Highway 9 involved 30-year-old Kayla Nichols of Canton, MInnesota and 74-year-old Suzanne Ryan of Cresco. Police say Nichols was passing Ryan's vehicle when her own vehicle began to fishtail, striking Ryan's vehicle. The accident did $3,500 in damages. Neither driver was injured.
