Winneshiek County joins Clayton and Fayette counties in passing the 1,000 COVID-19 cases mark

The six counties that make up NE Iowa collectively reports an average 14-day COVID-19 positivity rating of 19 percent. That's down 3 percent from 2 weeks ago.

Four of the six counties report a decline in positivity ratings from 2 weeks ago. Chickasaw County dropped from 29 percent to 23 percent; Clayton County dropped from 26 percent to 21 percent; Fayette County dropped from 22 percent to 14 percent; Howard County dropped from 21 percent to 17 percent. Only Allamakee County reports an increase in its positivity rate compared to two weeks ago (18 percent two weeks ago compared to 23 percent today).  Winneshiek County remains at 17 percent positivity - the same rate it was at two weeks ago.

Fayette County reports 522 active positive cases, Clayton County reports 473, Winneshiek County reports 431, Allamakee County reports 393, Howard County reports 270, and Chickasaw County reports 174.

As of Thursday morning, Clayton County reports 1,144 total COVID-19 cases since March; Fayette County reports 1,090 total cases; Winneshiek County reports 1,037 total cases; Chickasaw County reports 910 total cases; Allamakee County reports 873 cases and Howard County reports 583 cases. That means there have been 5,637 residents of the six county area who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past nine months.
