Letter to the Editor: No reason to change zoning of Freeport land

(The following Letter to the Editor has been submitted by Bob Puffer of Decorah):

"Not so very long ago, the Decorah Planning & Zoning Commission rejected an attempt to rezone the land behind Walmart from F-1 Floodplain to C-4 Shopping Center Commercial District.

What has changed? An offer of first refusal is a sad offer indeed given the potential flood damage upstream and downstream.

I urge Planning & Zoning to leave well enough alone."
