Byrnes served three terms in the Iowa House before becoming manager of the Osage Municipal Utilities

1996 Luther College graduate Josh Byrnes has been appointed to the Iowa Utilities Board by Governor Kim Reynolds.

Byrnes is currently the general manager of the Osage Municipal Utilities.  If confirmed by the Iowa Senate, Byrnes will replace Nick Wagner, who had served in that role since 2013 and resigned from the IUB in July.

Reynolds praised Byrnes, calling him, "a talented, solutions-driven individual who has spent his career serving Iowans."  Byrnes said, "It is an exciting time to be part of the utility sector in Iowa and it is essential we continue to have affordable, reliable, and environmental solutions for all Iowans."
