Another Winneshiek County resident has died from COVID-19

13 Winneshiek County residents have now died from the effects of COVID-19.  The Iowa Department of Public Health on Monday added another death to the total of Winneshiek County.

In all, 978 Winneshiek County residents have contracted COVID-19 since March.  In the past week, 91 new COVID-19 patients have been reported in Winneshiek County.  As of Monday, 13 people have died and 555 people have recovered from COVID-19, meaning there are still 410 people dealing with the disease. 

For the six counties of NE Iowa, a total of 5,374 people have contracted COVID-19.  In addition to the 978 Winneshiek County residents, there have been 1,119 COVID cases in Clayton County, 1,042 cases in Fayette County, 858 cases in Chickasaw County, 818 cases in Allamakee County and 559 cases in Howard County.

Allamakee County has reported 11 deaths due to COVID-19, while Fayette County has had 10 deaths; Howard County has had nine deaths, Clayton County has had five deaths and Chickasaw County has had four deaths.  That means 52 NE Iowa residents have died from COVID-19.

At this point, 560 Fayette County residents are still in isolation because of COVID-10; 535 Clayton County residents; 410 Winneshiek County residents; 378 Allamakee County residents; 274 Howard County residents; and 186 Chickasaw County residents--a total of 2,343 NE Iowans still dealing with COVID-19.
