Decorah woman faces trespassing charge--when she was standing on property she owns

Decorah resident Janelle Pavlovec will appear in Magistrate's Court on Monday on a trespassing charge that was filed earlier in November when she was standing on property she owns.

Of course, there's more to the story than that.  Officers were called to a rock quarry off Highway 52 on November 11th by employees of Bruening Rock Products as they were preparing to blast and collect rock from the quarry.  Bruening Rock Products has a lease for the quarry.

Pavlovec tried to stop the crews by standing in the area where the blasting was going to occur.  Police were called and warned her to leave the property or she would be charged with criminal trespass.  When she refused, she was arrested.

The case is scheduled to come up at Magistrate's Court in the Winneshiek County Courthouse on Monday.
