NE Iowa now surpasses 5,000 COVID-19 cases

The six counties in NE Iowa have surpassed the 5,000 mark in the number of COVID-19 cases this year.
Wednesday's figures show Clayton County with 1,052 total cases, Fayette County with 1,003 cases, Winneshiek County with 929 cases, Allamakee County with 740 cases, Chickasaw County with 813 cases and Howard County with 523 total cases.
Since March, 47 residents of the six NE Iowa counties have died from COVID-19, including 10 in Winneshiek County, 11 in Allamakee County and 9 in Howard County.
When the number of those who have recovered and those who have died are subtracted from overall COVID-19 numbers, Fayette County has 587 active cases of COVID-19; Clayton County has 552 cases, Winneshiek County has 379 cases, Allamakee County has 343 cases, Howard County has 246 cases and Chickasaw County has 159 active cases.
