What's it like to go through the Test Iowa station in Decorah?

It's a fairly simple setup at the Test Iowa Station.

There was a line of cars Wednesday morning outside the new Test Iowa COVID-19 testing station at Steve's Car Care on Montgomery Street in Decorah.  That line was a sign of how many people needed testing—not a sign that the testing took long.

Staffers from Winneshiek Medical Center say it's typically a 15-minute to 20-minute process to wait in line and then get tested inside.  That's after people wanting to get tested go to www.testiowa.com, answer the questions and print off the QR code they receive.  They'll need to bring that QR code with them, along with a valid ID.

Winneshiek Medical Center staffer Becky Langreck says around 85 people got tested Monday morning and another 75 people on Tuesday morning.  Typically, people who get tested will get their results back within 48 hours.

People getting tested stay in their car or truck the entire process and do not need to get out.  When they're done, they drive out the rear garage door at Steve's Car Care and wait to find out what the results have to tell them.

But all the necessary supplies are there.
Drivers are reminded not to get out of their vehicles.
