COVID-19 claims the life of another resident of northeast Iowa

COVID-19 has claimed the life of another individual in northeast Iowa. Chickasaw County reports 1 new death in the past 24 hours, bringing the county's death toll to 2. Collectively, the 6-county region reports 41 COVID-19 deaths.
 
Clayton County continues to have the highest number of total COVID-19 cases in NE Iowa, but Fayette County has the highest number of active cases, followed by Clayton, Allamakee, Winneshiek, Howard and Chickasaw Counties respectively.

Winneshiek County reports 791 total cases, 515 recoveries, 9 deaths, and 267 active cases.

The state reports 40 deaths over the past 24 hours, bringing Iowa's death toll to 2,064. Hospitalizations were up by 234 patients, bringing the state's total to 1,527. Of these hospitalizations, 283 are in the ICU and 134 are on ventilators.
