When the new Locust Road opens, it will have radar speed signs

It's a fact that when a road gets repaved, traffic speeds often increase because of the improved surfaces.

The Decorah City Council has approved a list of 24 traffic control devices for Locust Road, including four radar speed signs.  Those will display the speed each vehicle is traveling and will flash if the vehicle is traveling at a higher speed than the speed limit.

Meanwhile, Decorah City Engineer Jeremy Bril says crews have been able to do a lot of work during the better weather on most recent days.  Bril says the Locust Road/Pine Crest Drive intersection will reopen later this week, meaning local traffic will once again be able to use the Ridge Road detour.
