Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum will open its newest exhibit, "New Nordic Cuisine," later this month. The museum says a virtual opening will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 28th, with pre-registration required at vesterheim.org.
During the online opening, Decorah Courtyard and Cellar owner Dylan Reed-Maxfield will present a Scandinavian craft cocktail demonstration and Museum of Danish America Executive Director Tova Brandt will give a gallery talk.
Vesterheim says the exhibit "explores traditional food and contemporary innovation, local production and global reach, and restaurant culture and home cooking through immersive physical and digital environments."
Vesterheim is currently open with modified hours due to COVID-19. The Main Building and Museum Store are both open Thursday through Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. All other buildings are closed. Hours could change at any time – check vesterheim.org before visiting.
