Thanksgiving "Click It or Ticket" campaign begins Monday

The Thanksgiving holiday is typically the time of year when people drive to be with their family and friends. Travel may look a little different this year because of the COVID epidemic, but remembering to use your seat belt still is a good idea, not matter how far you're driving.

This Thanksgiving's "Click It or Ticket" campaign begins Monday and runs through Sunday, November 29th.  It's part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's national Click It or Ticket high-visibility enforcement effort.

Decorah Police remind the public that unbelted rear passengers are 2.7 times more likely to be killed than belted rear passengers.  Iowa has a seat belt usage rate of 95.2 percent, but that still means almost 5 percent of drivers don't use their seat belts.
