Road closed signs were a distraction in Ridge Road accident

A two-vehicle accident at Ridge Road and College Drive is being partially blamed on the road closure signs at that intersection.

Decorah Police say 76-year-old Dianne Ward pulled out from the stop sign on Ridge Road onto College Drive, but struck the driver's side of a car driven by 21-year-old Addie May Rand of Marion.

Neither driver was injured. No tickets were issued. The accident did a combined total of $5,000 in damages.
