Work has begun on upgrading Mary Christopher Park

Crews have installed a new inclusive play area at Mary Christopher Park on Water Street in Decorah. The project is the first of several projects scheduled for the park.

Planned improvements will include new black vinyl fencing, a new open-air shelter on the northeast edge of the park and the addition of a single stall universal restroom. All existing trees on the site will be preserved.

The park will also become the home of a veterans memorial. The 40-foot wide memorial will be created on the western side of the park.
