The COVID epidemic has reduced the number of polling places in Winneshiek County this year—but only slightly. North Winneshiek School is NOT a polling place this year. Residents of Hesper, Highland and Pleasant Townships, who usually vote at North Winn, will vote at the courthouse in Decorah.
Here is the complete information about voting on Tuesday--
Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Polling sites are at:
*First Lutheran Church: Precinct 2: Frankville Twp, Glenwood Twp, Decorah Ward 3, and the part of Decorah Twp in Supervisors District 1.
*Decorah City Hall: Precinct 3: Decorah Ward 1 and the part of Decorah Twp in Supervisor District 2.
*Winneshiek County Courthouse: Precincts 1, 4, & 11: Hesper Twp, Highland Twp, Pleasant Twp, Decorah Ward 2, and the part of Decorah Twp in Supervisor District 5.
*Good Shepherd Lutheran Church: Precincts 5 & 6: Decorah Ward 4, Decorah Ward 5, Canoe Twp, and the part of Decorah Twp in Supervisor District 3.
*Calmar Lutheran Church: Precinct 7: Calmar Twp and Springfield Twp, including the cities of Calmar and Spillville.
*Ossian Community Center: Precinct 8: Military Twp and Bloomfield Twp, including the cities of Ossian and Castalia.
*Ridgeway Community Center: Precinct 9: Bluffton Twp, Burr Oak Twp, Fremont Twp, Lincoln Twp, Madison Twp, and Orleans Twp, including the city of Ridgeway.
*Fort Atkinson Community Center: Precinct 10: Jackson Twp, Sumner Twp, and Washington Twp, including the cities of Fort Atkinson and Jackson Junction.
Voters are reminded of changes in Election Law that now requires proof of identity to vote. If you are registered to vote at your current address, please have one of the following forms of ID ready when you go to the polls: Iowa driver's license (or DOT issued Non-Driver ID Card), passport, military or veteran ID card, or voter ID card (only issued to registered voters without a drivers license or DOT ID).
If you are not registered to vote, or have moved since your last registration, you will need to provide proof of identification and proof of residency.
