Winneshiek County Engineer Lee Bjerke is a fan of good weather—especially when it comes late in the fall road construction season.

Bjerke says the new Chimney Rock Bridge built by Brennan Construction of Lansing will open to traffic this week.  Skyline Construction crews did some dirt work at the bridge last week and the warm weather will help the dirt to settle.

Bjerke says the Old Stage Road project also is going well, with possible completion at the end of this week.  The road is closed between 155th Avenue and Ranch Road to replace a cross road pipe.

Finally, road crews continue to work on 176th Street near Calmar, replacing cross road pipe.  The closures have been moving from site to site on the road.
