Almost half of Iowa's 99 counties report COVID-19 positive testing result rates of 15 percent or higher

As of Sunday, 43 out of Iowa's 99 counties had COVID-19 positive testing result rates of 15 percent or higher. That's not quite half of all counties.
The highest positive test result rate was in O'Brien County, where 25.8 percent of tests had positive results, followed by Eastern Iowa's Delaware County, which had a positivity rate of 24.0 percent. Northeast Iowa counties among the list of 43 counties were Clayton County, with a 21.2 percent average 14-day positivity rate, and Chickasaw County, with a 15.3 percent 14-day positivity rate.
Winneshiek County has been surpassed by Clayton County with positive COVID-19 cases. Clayton County reports 576 cases, followed by Winneshiek County (545 cases), Fayette County (458 cases), Allamakee County (434 cases), Chickasaw County (399 cases), and Howard County (293 cases).
Winneshiek County Public Health Director Krista Vanden Brink on Monday repeated her plea to county residents to use a mask and avoid large gatherings.
