A study has been completed of traffic levels on Highway 9 at the Decorah Business Park entrance which shows that traffic signals will be needed—eventually.

Consulting engineer Lindsay Erdman of Erdman Engineering has told Decorah City Council members that the study shows traffic lights will need to be installed in 2029.  Erdman says it's not a question of "if" traffic signals should be installed, but "when."  However, the survey shows that traffic lights are not needed now—despite the growth in vehicle traffic using Millennium Drive due to Toppling Goliath and other businesses in the Decorah Business Park.

Erdman told Decorah City Council members that it will be good to have a timeline to work toward for getting traffic signals at the intersection—which also includes the Ossian blacktop, County W-42.  He says the next step after completion of the survey is to again contact the Iowa Department of Transportation for comments and a response.
