The Decorah Public Library is celebrating National Friends of Libraries Week this week

This is National Friends of Libraries Week.  The Decorah Public Library Friends Board has 12 members: Karla Brown, Ed Brooks, Kelly Coppola, Kathy Johnson, Jane Kemp, Sue Luzum, Carolyn Mottley, Tom Murray, Cynthia Peterson, Marilyn Rue, Mark Ruen and Kristin Torresdal.

 "As an avid reader, I see a strong and vibrant library as an asset to any community and have been so impressed since moving to Decorah five years ago with the quality of ours," said Friends Board President Karla Brown.

Despite the transition to digital programming that occurred in mid-March due to the Covid-19 pandemic, participation in library programs from June 2019 to June 2020 increased.  Funds contributed to the library made it possible to present 394 programs to 9,806 library patrons of all ages!"
