Winneshiek Medical Center is switching to online scheduling for COVID-19 tests through Test Iowa

The change is being made after WMC staff performed 170 COVID-19 swabs during the first week of Test Iowa at Winneshiek Medical Center.

Says WMC director of practice operations Sarah Groux, "Overall, our first week of partnering with Test Iowa went smoothly.  We were able to test members of our community in the mornings and send the swabs to be resulted via State courier each afternoon.  Test Iowa then communicates the results of the tests via email directly to the person."  (Results typically take 2-4 days).

To accommodate the growing interest in Test Iowa, Winneshiek Medical Center is transitioning to online scheduling for the service through www.testiowa.com.  The online schedule shows appointments available for the next three consecutive days.  If you do not see any available time slots on the day you picked, that means all time slots are full for that day. Once you have picked your appointment time, you will receive an email and/or text message with your confirmation from Test Iowa.

Anyone with a Test Iowa appointment should drive to the WMC Main Entrance circle drive and stay in their car.  The nurse will come out to your car, scan your QR code, and then complete your swab.   Make sure to bring the QR code you receive when you complete online registration.  You can either print the QR code or have it on your phone.

Groux says, "The process is the same for the public, except at the end of the online assessment, they can schedule their own appointment electronically.  There is no need to call us to schedule a Test Iowa appointment."  Test Iowa hours will be changed to 9:00 a.m. until noon Monday through Friday.
