Volunteers from the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce will travel the countryside in the southwest quadrant of Winneshiek County on Wednesday, distributing bags filled with provisions to every farmer they find. The bags include everything from water to work gloves, all donated by local businesses.

Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce Director Kristina Wiltgen says, "Weather permitting, we'll distribute 180 bags."

The Stay Safe, Take a Break project is supported by more than 35 local businesses and organizations.  The Stay Safe Take a Break project began in 2004 in an effort to help fight farmer fatigue and keep workers safe in Winneshiek County during the fall harvest season.
