Calmar woman arrested on drug charges

A Calmar woman is now in custody after being arrested Saturday on two counts of Third or Subsequent Offense Possession of a Controlled Substance.

On October 1st, the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office and the Calmar Police executed a search warrant at a home on East Main Street in Calmar, the result of a lengthy joint investigation involving both departments.  However, the Calmar woman was not at home during the search warrant.

That led to charges being filed and an arrest warrant being issued.  On Saturday 38-year-old Keri Strong was taken into custody at 108 East Main Street in Calmar.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office says the case remains under investigation, with additional arrests and charges pending.
