Winneshiek County registers another death from COVID-19

Winneshiek County Public Health Director Krista Vanden Brink says another Winneshiek County resident has died from the effects of COVID-19.  That means nine county residents have now lost their lives to COVID-19.  That's the highest COVID-19 death toll in NE Iowa, although Allamakee County is right behind with eight deaths and Howard County has had seven deaths.  Iowa's death toll continues to climb to near the 1,500 mark.

Winneshiek County also tops the list of the number of positive COVID-19 cases in the six counties in Northeast Iowa with 388. Clayton County follows with 315, then Chickasaw County with 310, then Allamakee County with 296, then Fayette County with 286, and finally Howard County with 213. This brings the six-county COVID-19 case total to 1,808.
