The financial situation at Winneshiek Medical Center is improving

The latest financial statements from Winneshiek Medical Center show the institution is beginning to recover from the financial effects of the COVID-19 epidemic.

August financials for the hospital show a net income of $137,000, giving a fiscal year-to-date (July and August of 2020) gain from operations of $467,324.

"We are on an upward trend, but it's slow," Chief Financial Officer Lynn Luloff told WMC Board of Trustees members Wednesday evening.  Luloff says she's encouraged by the fact that the number of visits to the Decorah Clinic were up seven percent in August from August of 2019 and that August expenses were lower than budgeted.
