For the second day in a row, Iowa has set a record for the number of people hospitalized because of COVID-19. The Iowa Department of Public Health says there are currently 444 people in the hospital because of the coronavirus—up from yesterday's figure of 416, which was also a record at that time.
The Winneshiek County Public Health Department says one person is hospitalized in the county because of COVID-19 symptoms.
Meanwhile, Howard County has passed the 200 mark for total COVID-19 cases with 201. Winneshiek County still has the highest total of COVID-19 cases of the six counties in Northeast Iowa—with 362 cases. Clayton County has 299 cases, Chickasaw County has had 294 cases, Allamakee County has had 280 cases and Fayette County has had 262 cases, bringing the six-county total to 1,698.
