Eight Winneshiek County residents have now died from COVID-19

The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting that two more people in Winneshiek County have now died from the effects of COVID-19, bringing the total in Winneshiek county to 8.  A total of 27 people in the six counties of Northeast Iowa have died from COVID-19: 8 in Winneshiek County, 7 in Howard County, 6 in Allamakee County, 3 in Clayton County, 2 in Fayette County, and 1 in Chickasaw County.

Overall, there have been 1,663 confirmed cases of COIVD-19 in the six counties of Northeast Iowa: 357 people in Winneshiek County, 292 people in Chickasaw County, 289 people in Clayton County, 275 people in Allamakee County, 253 people in Fayette County, and 197 people in Howard County.
