Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation's Family Service Offices will start taking limited applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program on Thursday.
Applications will only be accepted from households meeting at least one of the following four conditions: they have someone who is 60 years old or order; or someone who is disabled; or have received a written disconnection notice; or are currently disconnected. All other households must wait until November 1st to apply.
LIHEAP customers will need to furnish some form of identification, a copy of their most recent heating and electric bill, and proof of all household members' gross income for the past 30 calendar days, the most recent 12 months or for the past calendar year.
Due to COVID-19, the Decorah office of NEICAC at 305 Montgomery Street (the Smith Building) is closed to in-person appointments. However, the office is still helping people complete applications by mail, email, phone, fax or online. For more information, call (563) 387-4958.
