Winneshiek County Board approves lower speed limits for Quarry Hill Road and Highland Drive

Neighbors along Highland Drive and Quarry Hill Road have gotten their wish fulfilled.  Members of the Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors Monday unanimously approved 30-mile-an-hour speed limits for Highland Drive and a good section of Quarry Hill Road.

Neighbors living on the two roads have asked the county for help in slowing traffic using the two roads as a detour around Locust Road, which is closed during construction.

The resolution imposing the new speed limits calls for a 30-mile-an-hour limit for all of Highland Drive outside the Decorah city limits and for a 30-mile-an-hour speed limit on Quarry Hill Road from the Decorah city limits north to Highland Drive.
