Winneshiek County listed as #8 healthiest community by U.S. News & World Report

U.S. New & World Report has released its 2020 ratings for the healthiest communities in the United States--and Winneshiek County is #8 on the list of "rural, high-performing rankings."

The latest rankings were created in collaboration with the Aetna Foundation.  They are based on an examination of nearly 3,000 communities across the United States, using 84 metrics.  The metrics were then converted to a score on a range of 0 to 100.

Winneshiek County registered its highest scores for the health of its residents and for its environmental conditions.  The lowest scored were recorded for racial diversity and for the condition of its economy.
