Luther College is announcing that fall's Farwell Distinguished Lecture on October 15th will be delivered by zoom by Luther College Board of Regents member and renowned public health expert Dr. Michael Osterholm, a 1975 Luther graduate. Dr. Osterholm will speak live via Zoom.
Osterholm's vast knowledge and experience of epidemiology and infectious disease has made him a world leader in preparing for, reacting to, and preventing disease outbreaks. He is the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy, Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Division of Environmental Health Sciences-School of Public Health, a professor in the Technological Leadership Institute-College of Science and Engineering and an adjunct professor in the Medical School, all at the University of Minnesota. He serves as a member of the National Academy of Medicine and the Council of Foreign Relations.
