Longtime Nob Hill Supper Club owners Linda and Steve Henning say they have sold their business to Joe and Ann Grimstad of Decorah.
Linda Henning tells decorahnews.com "it's time" for them to retire and do other activities. Linda and Steve want to thank their staff and customers for the support they have given over more than a 30-year time period.
Nob Hill on Highway 52 north of Decorah dates to January of 1937, when it opened as "Breezy Hill Pavilion" and was used as a ballroom, primarily for square dancers. To help with expenses, the building was used as a roller skating rink in the afternoon and a dance hall in the evening. The building was purchased by the American Legion of Decorah after World War II and hosted many musical groups. It went through other owners, then in November of 1986 was sold to Steve & Linda Henning. The place has been used for wedding receptions, banquets, and dances.
It is also famous for the musical acts which have performed there over the years. In 2012, it was inducted into the Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Linda Henning says an announcement about future plans for the facility will be made at a later date by Joe and Ann Grimstad.
