The Decorah Board of Adjustment spent nearly four hours Wednesday night resuming its discussion of the proposed 8-unit apartment complex on St. Lawrence Street. Wednesday night's meeting followed a nearly three-hour discussion on September 2nd.
Neighbors of the property had filed an appeal of the Zoning Administrator's ruling allowing the property at 105 St. Lawrence Street to be used for a multi-family complex. The appeal claimed "the decision was inconsistent with the facts and the (city's) zoning ordinance."
Around 9:00 Wednesday night, the Board of Adjustment took several votes which supported the Zoning Administrator's interpretations of city zoning codes as they applied to the property.
The votes end the city's review of the project. Any appeal of the decision would now have to be filed in Circuit Court, not with the City of Decorah.
