Decorah Public Library's Rachael Button one of 14 Iowa librarians selected for program aimed at improving diverse youth programs in libraries

Decorah Public Library Children's and Young Adult Librarian Rachael Button is one of 14 Iowa librarians selected by the State Library of Iowa to participate in a program to improve equity and access for library programs for diverse youth.

Button and the 13 other Iowa Librarians will work through the "Project READY" curriculum over the next nine months in an effort to strengthen and broaden their work for Iowa's Native youth and youth of color.

Project READY stands for "Reimagining Equity & Access for Diverse Youth."  It is funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.  Project READY features the work and scholarship of more than 40 library and school practitioners, scholars, administrators.  For more information about Project READY, go to https://ready.web.unc.edu/.
