The latest report by the White House coronavirus task force is still recommending that bars in Winneshiek County be closed.
The new report says Iowa had the third-highest rate of new COVID-19 cases in the U.S. last week. It ranked 32 Iowa counties as "red zones" and another 29 counties as "yellow zones," including Winneshiek County and Fayette County.
Counties listed as "yellow zones" had between 10 to 100 new confirmed cases per 100,000 population and virus tests which had 5 percent to 10 percent positive results.
In addition to recommending the closing of bars, the new report says Iowa should reduce restaurant capacity 50 percent in yellow zone counties like Winneshiek and Fayette counties.
