Local youth mentoring programs are continuing, adjusting for COVID-19

Youth Mentoring at Helping Services has been providing area youth with mentors for over 20 years in Allamakee, Howard, and Winneshiek counties.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, some mentors are meeting their youth in-person, wearing face-coverings, using social distancing, and being outside, when possible. Other mentors and mentees are writing letters, talking on the phone, or using video chat systems to keep in-touch.

Now, more than ever, adult friends are needed to be a mentor to 23 area youth who are waiting.
