National Assisted Living Week begins Sunday

Arlin Falck Assisted Living in Decorah is joining thousands of assisted living communities across the country in observing "National Assisted Living Week" starting Sunday.

Says Arlin Falck social worker Sheena Dix, "This year, COVID-19 has been an enormous, unforeseen challenge that has resulted in every person working in long term care to step up and go above and beyond expectations."

While adhering to safety requirements and precautions in place for COVID-19, Arlin Falck will host numerous care-focused programs, including "Self-Care Advice," a reminiscing project to suggest ways staff and tenants can keep themselves healthy and happy, and "Random Acts of Caring," a way for tenants and staff to convey their mutual good feelings for each other.

"We encourage members of the community to keep in touch and visit Arlin Falck Assisted Living's social media and web pages to stay informed during National Assisted Living Week and beyond," said Dix. "Also, engaging with our tenants, whether through the telephone, electronic communication, writing letters, or patio and balcony visits can be a rewarding experience and makes a tremendous difference in tenants' lives, especially during this time."
