Sunflower Child Development Center in Decorah is seeking any interested individuals to serve as substitute teachers and classroom helpers.
"With more than 120 children enrolled at our center, we are in need of substitute teachers and classroom helpers throughout the infant, toddler and preschool rooms," stated Sunflower Executive Director Leona Hoth.
Responsibilities include assisting the classroom lead teacher in implementing programming and activities, supervision of children in the classroom and communicating with parents and family members. Caring for the children can be physically demanding. Staff, children and families take precautions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children, parents, staff and themselves inside and outside of the center.
Sunflower utilizes Creative Curriculum throughout the center and encourages learning through play, both indoor and outdoor. The organization also promotes Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) in all classrooms as a positive approach to behavior challenges through every age group. The staff encourages children in their quest to be the best version of themselves.
