15 people have died from COVID-19 in the six-county area

The latest COVID-19 figures from the Iowa Department of Public Health show the rise in Winneshiek County cases is continuing.
IDPH reports there have been four Winneshiek County residents who have died from COVID-19 complications, five Allamakee County residents, three Clayton County residents, two Howard County residents, one Fayette County resident and no Chickasaw County residents. The total of 15 deaths is two higher than previously.
224 Winneshiek County residents have tested positive for COVID-19. That represents 85 people who tested positive before August 1st and 139 people who tested positive since August 1st.
Allamakee County has had 183 cases, Clayton County has had 183 cases; Fayette County has had 144 cases; Chickasaw County has had 111 cases and Howard County has had 137 cases. That represents a total of 982 COVID-9 cases in the six northeasternmost Iowa counties since the epidemic began--an increase of 48 cases since Monday.
