13 people have died from COVID-19 in the six northeasternmost Iowa counties

The latest COVID-19 figures from the Iowa Department of Public Health shows the spike in Winneshiek County cases is continuing.
IDPH reports there have been 215 Winneshiek County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19. That represents 85 people who tested positive before August 1st and 130 people who tested positive since August 1st.
Allamakee County has had174 cases, Clayton County has had 179 cases; Fayette County has had 138 cases; Chickasaw County has had 107 cases and Howard County has had 132 cases. That represents a total of 934 COVID-9 cases in the six northeasternmost Iowa counties since the epidemic began.
Of the more than 900 cases, there have been 13 people who have died from the disease. That includes three in Winneshiek County, four in Allamakee County, three in Clayton county, one in Fayette County and two in Howard County. Deaths are assigned to the home counties of patients, which is not necessarily where the deaths occurred.
