Aase Haugen Senior Services officials are reporting that there have been three deaths at the facility.  The causes of the death have not yet been officially determined by the coroner, but the deaths have occurred since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak.

"Our hearts are heavy, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends who have lost a loved one, and also with our staff who are upholding each other through this difficult time," said Aase Haugen administrator Orson Bauder.

Aase Haugen reports 22 residents and 8 staff have tested positive for COVID-19; 42 residents and 34 staff have tested negative and 1 resident and 6 staff have recovered.

Statistics released by Aase Haugen may differ from statistics released by the Iowa Department of Public Health or other sources due to different reporting time frames.

Aase Haugen will be re-testing residents and staff members periodically in the coming days and weeks. All staff are screened when they enter the building and when they leave the building for any signs for symptoms.  Nurses working at the facility who come from outside organizations are required to provide the results of a COVID19 test before entering the building.

"We are striving to keep our residents and staff as safe as possible," says Bauder. "It is our hope and prayer that we will be COVID-19 free in the near future."
