In the event the Decorah School District needs to move a classroom, a grade level, a school, or some other group to remote continuous learning due to quarantine, community spread circumstances, or other circumstances, the district's regular emergency notification system will be used, including direct messaging through SchoolMessenger, and public notice through the following methods:

www.decorahnews.com by Internet; KCRG Channel 9, KWWL Channel 7 and KTTC Channel 10 by television; Decorah radio stations KDHK 100.5 FM, KVIK 104.7 FM, KNEI 103.5 FM, KMRV 99.1 FM/1160 AM and KDEC 1240 AM; and Rochester radio stations KROC 106.9 FM, KYOB 105.3 FM, KDOC 103.9 FM, KDCZ 107.7 FM and KWWK 96.5 FM.

When there is a confirmed positive case of COVID-19, the Decorah School District will work through the contact tracing process with Winneshiek County Public Health to identify each potential close contact; those who may have spent 15 minutes or more within six feet of contact with the positive case. Contact will then be made with the close contact individuals, and/or the parents/guardians of those individuals to inform them, and assess the need to quarantine. The school district will work with Winneshiek Public Health to provide accurate and timely information to students, families, staff, and our community, while protecting the privacy rights of the individuals involved.
