Letter to the Editor: Here's one way to think about wearing a mask

(The following Letter to the Editor has been submitted by Bob Felde of Decorah):

"I know a lot of folks are distressed about any mandate to wear a mask, probably for a variety of reasons. I don't particularly enjoy them, either. But I like to think about it this way:

I live next to a daycare. Lots of kids. We have a speed zone in our neighborhood. It helps remind me to be careful and watch out! It also reminds strangers, people from out of town, that they need to be careful in my neighborhood. I might like to drive 40 mph in my neighborhood, and the reality is that I probably won't hit one of those kids. The speed zone, well, I guess it's one of those laws that seems pretty unenforceable. I've never seen anyone ticketed on our street. But you know what? I'm glad it's there, even it seems to infringe on my freedom."
