Decorah City Council is looking to install sidewalks in the Bruening Addition next year

Members of the City of Decorah's Street Committee have agreed to proceed with a revised sidewalk project in the Bruening Addition.  The changes call for removing Linden Street and the east side of North Park Street from the project, while adding in three street crossings on North Park Street all the way to Phelps Park.

City Administrator Chad Bird says the next steps in the process will be to finalize design specifications, then schedule a bid opening some time early in 2021.  Bird says city officials are discussing the possibility of giving a contractor all of 2021 to finish the project—hoping that will keep the cost of the project low, since a contractor could do the work as other work allowed.
