Johanna Bergan will resign as 5th Ward councilperson

City of Decorah 5th Ward Councilperson Johanna Bergan announced Monday night that she will be resigning from her position.

Bergan says she's in the process of buying a new home and will submit her resignation when the move is complete.

Bergan has served as the chair of the Community Betterment Committee and also serves on Budget and Finance; Personnel; Public Safety; Water, Sewer, Public Lights, and Utilities.

"It's been an honor to serve," she told her fellow city council members Monday night.
