Wellington Place has temporarily postponed outside visits

One staff member at Wellington Place in Freeport has tested positive for the coronavirus, so Wellington Place Executive Director Scott Marnin says the facility has temporarily postponed outside visits.

However, Marnin clarifies that there has not been a closure of anything at Wellington Place.  "We had one staff member who tested positive (for COVID-19), therefore we began additional testing that thus far has produced all negative test results.  Once all the testing has been completed, we will be able to assess and restart the outside visits again," says Marnin.

Wellington Place earlier purchased $3,000 worth of new communications equipment, using a state communication technology grant.  Marnin says this equipment will be among the other means of communication available to be used for communications between residents and outsiders.

Says Marnin, "We will always put the safety of our tenants, residents and staff ahead of everything else."
