Two vehicle crash on Highway 9 causes over $15,000 in damages

A Decorah man has been ticketed for failure to stop in an assured distance following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Highway 9.

Decorah Police say 39-year-old James Falck struck the rear of a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Jenna Hayes of Decorah as Hayes had stopped to make a left turn into a driveway.  Falck told police he did not see that Hayes' SUV had stopped.

Both vehicles were damaged, with a total estimate of $15,500.  A passenger in Hayes' vehicle in a child safety seat was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center after complaining of an injury.
