Decorah Library Board rejects request to remove an item from the library's collection

Members of the Decorah Library Board have voted unanimously to deny a request to remove an item from the library's collection.  The eight board members said the fundamental policy of libraries is that of intellectual freedom.  That means library patrons should be free to choose which materials they read.

An item in the children's section was the reason for the patron's request.
