Charges have been filed in the theft of Pride flags in Decorah

The Decorah Police Department says it has recovered Pride flags which were stolen last month from five houses in Decorah.

A news release from the department says police received five reports of stolen Pride flags on July 15th.  One of the reports included a description of the vehicle being driven.

Officers made a traffic stop and started an investigation into the thefts.  Wednesday evening of this week they announced charges are pending against the five juveniles, all of whom are 16 years old.  Two males faces charges of theft and trespassing; one female faces a theft charge; two other females have not had charges filed against them.

The Decorah Police Department says their investigation is continuing.  The flags have now been returned to the five houses.  Police say further information "will be released soon."
