Winneshiek Medical Center is offering Winneshiek County senior citizens a second distribution of free coupons to be used at the Decorah Area Farmers Market this season. Participants will receive $10 in coupons for locally grown fruits and vegetables.
The Winneshiek Medical Center Farmers Market Senior Nutrition Program is funded by The United Way of Winneshiek County, with participating vendors from the Decorah Area Farmers Market. The coupons can only be used for fruits and vegetables and may not be exchanged for money. There is a limited amount of coupons available and they will be distributed until they are gone.
Recipients of these coupons must be Winneshiek County residents, age 65 and older, and bring proof of their residency and age to the distribution site. A driver's license or the blue 2019 WMC farmers market coupons are both acceptable. There are no income guidelines to participate in this program. Seniors who received coupons earlier in the 2020 season are eligible for a second distribution at this time.
The coupons will be distributed on Wednesday at the Decorah Senior Center at 806 River Street from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Due to COVID-19 precautions at WMC, participants who are unable to make this date will not be able to pick up coupons at WMC at another time. Coupons will not be mailed out.
